Profoto Introduces New ProDaylight 200/400 Air

Profoto announces today the new ProDaylight 200 Air and ProDaylight 400 Air continuous light sources. In 2011, Profoto released the continuous light source ProDaylight 800 Air, thereby introducing the concept of light shaping to video. ProDaylight Air is an HMI light, which is ideal for most photo and video shoots.

Profoto Introduces New Umbrella XL Product Line

Available in three versions - white, silver and translucent - the new Profoto Umbrella XL features a diameter of 65" with a slightly parabolic shape that allows photographers to change the light distribution by simply sliding the umbrella shaft inside the flash head. In addition, the light spread can also be adjusted by moving the Zoom Reflector back or forth, creating an even more versatile look.

NEW: Profoto Asymmetric Softboxes

Profoto’s new asymmetric softboxes feature a unique construction. The light source is not positioned in the center as in a standard softbox, but in the first third of the back. This creates a one-sided light fall-off that allows for precise control of the light distribution. The feature is perfect for people- and fashion photography, where shaping the main light on the subject’s face is fundamental. It is also ideal for still life shoots, for which sophisticated highlight control is required.

Profoto Introduces Pro-8 MainsDock: The Adaptor That Turns Battery Packs Into Studio Generators

The MainsDock makes it possible to connect Profoto’s popular Pro-7b 1200, Pro-B2 1200 and Pro-B3 1200 AirS battery packs to a normal household socket by replacing the battery, offering true AC operation, including support for continuous operation of the 250 W modeling light, when used with a Pro-B2 or Pro-B3 generator. The MainsDock automatically adjusts its voltage to any mains in the world, and the unit is certified for international travel.

New Profoto D1 Grids
