We function as a full-service advertising agency working within MAC Group that specializes in serving the manufacturers of photographic equipment. We provide a small company, family atmosphere where highly motivated people work hard to market a dozen high quality brands. The target audience for our services is professional photographers, students and educators.

Technical Marketing Assistant
Location and status:
This is an on-location, full-time staff position based in North White Plains, NY. No remote or telecommuting.
Job Description and Qualifications:
Web publishing tools/skills, online and in-person marketing experience, and an adept knowledge of social media trends and methods are required. One to two years’ experience, either as a professional photographer, or working for a company specializing in the sales of equipment to professional photographers is preferred. If not, we will train you for a similar period of time.
The candidate we seek will grow into being responsible for the marketing of one or more of our brands on the Internet. This will require interfacing and collaborating with the Brand Product Marketing Manager and various technical departments. Essentially, you will become the heart and voice of a brand or brands on the internet.
Your training will include basic maintenance of our websites, data, operations, marketing analysis and gathering, and many more fundamental tasks. Once your base Web training program is complete, you will begin work as Technical Marketing Assistant.
Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Collaborate with Product Marketing Manager on the creation, launch, promotion and analysis of marketing initiatives through the Marketing Communications Manager
- Collaborate with Webmaster/SEO Advocate on technical needs for campaigns
- Write copy for landing pages, banner ads, eBlasts, etc. for marketing campaigns
- Launch and manage PPC and SEM campaigns
- Maintain a database of marketing activities, costs, and performance
- Coordinate campaign launches with advertisers
- Improve email marketing opt-in and list building efforts
- Seek new avenues for online advertising that match your audience or develop new ones in sync with MAC Group’s goals.
Web Site(s)
- Collaborate with Webmaster/SEO Advocate on the creation process for new web site(s)
- Work with the with Webmaster/SEO Advocate to implement the plan/content for the site
- Create content or collaborate on content for videos and promotional programs featured on the site
- Be involved in and informed of the overall process for the site creation and ongoing maintenance/upgrades
- Collaborate with Webmaster/SEO Advocate during SEO process by profiling visitors, habits, keywords and provide survey data to determine goals.
- Coordinate new product releases and announcements with Webmaster/SEO Advocate and PMM
Blog
- Interface with photographers & staff/hired blog writer to develop blog stories and content on an ongoing basis
- Write and publish content on a daily basis (5x/week)
- Solicit content from industry leaders to be posted on the blog
- Develop relationships with industry partners that support ongoing growth
- Maintain and expand relationships with other blogs to grow overall traffic
Social Media
- Monitor, maintain and grow our current social media venues (Facebook/Twitter/Youtube/Vimeo/Flickr/etc.)
- Post relevant content on a timely basis
- Respond and reply on a timely basis
- Form connections with relevant social media users to expand the awareness of the brand
- Communicate opportunities discovered though social media with the relevant product manager(s) at MAC Group & brand(s)
- Maintain the VIP database for brand(s)
Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of photographic principles and practices, as well as a working knowledge of the complimentary major industry brands and a passion for photography
- Complete understanding and working experience with all popular forms of social media
- Exercise solid written and verbal communication skills (MarCom degree preferred)
- Possess strong presentation creation skills, along with the ability to translate technical subjects into clear, concise visual presentation materials to highly knowledgeable photographic audiences
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and high accountability
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
- Consistent ability to deliver results while managing multiple projects
- Ability to deliver promised jobs on-time, every time
- The ability to pay attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment
